Address Malata, PhD, MScN, is currently the principal of the Kamuzu College of Nursing at the University of Malawi. She is also the current president of the Association of Malawian Midwives and the president of Tau Lambda-at-Large (Africa Chapter) of the Sigma Theta Tau International. Dr. Malata completed her bachelor of science in nursing at the University of Malawi in 1995 and later pursued a master of science in nursing at Edith Cowan University, in Australia, where her work focused on labor and birth information needs of first time mothers in Malawi. Dr. Malata received her doctorate from Edith Cowan University in 2004, where her doctoral research focused on development and evaluation of a childbirth education program for Malawian women.
